2011 KLMF FUNDRAISER FEATURING BULL RIDING

The 5th annual Kevin Lord Memorial BBHL Fundraiser will be held this year, on Saturday, May 14th at the Beeton Arena. Tickets for the event are $20, which includes a buffet meal, prizes and a full night of live entertainment. This year’s featured entertainment will the band “Radio King”, a very exciting band, who play a great variety of rock, pop and new country music. Also appearing will be the local band, “The Beet’n Boomers”. The theme for this year’s event will be “A Bit Of Country”. A special added attraction to this year’s event will be a mechanical bull set up on site for people to try and ride for a small fee. Try your skill at becoming the event’s champion bull rider!

“We wanted to try and have something new and exciting for this year’s fundraiser and getting a mechanical bull will definitely provide a lot of fun and excitement. I can’t recall anyone in New Tecumseth ever having something like this and it should be real fun. It will not only be fun for those trying to ride but also for everyone watching. It will also give the underage people something more to do before they have to leave at 9:00pm, as it is a licensed event”, said Al Lord, event chair.

Proceeds raised from the event are in support of the BBHL Minor Ball Hockey League. Also, a portion of the proceeds goes towards the Kevin Lord Memorial Community Benefit Fund, which provides support to various worthy causes. Last year the fund donated money to FAB (New Beeton Arena Fund), Cole Woodward fund and the Ewing’s Cancer Foundation Of Canada. In previous years, total donations close to $30,000, have also been made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre, in Kevin Lord’s memory.

Tickets will be available soon and can be purchased at the Muddy Water Hotel in Beeton and the Hornet's Nest Bar & Grill in Alliston at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex. Advanced tickets can be purchased now on the BBHL website at time of registration. This is a licensed event and a wristband policy will be in effect. Minors will be permitted to attend until 9 p.m. Come out and enjoy a fun packed evening while supporting two good causes.
